Dallas – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished the Red River Classic tied for eighth place. The final round of the tournament was held on Tuesday. The Buckeyes shot an 849 (- 15), 36 shots behind the leader Oklahoma State, which finished at 813 (-51). David Wagenseller (So., Wilmington, Ohio) led the Buckeyes with a 208 (-8) and finished tied for 17th place. Four OSU golfers fired career-best rounds. Wagenseller shot a career-low 68 in the first round and topped that with a 67 in the second round. His 17th-place finish is also a career best. Ryan Dennis (So., Stow, Ohio) shot a 67 in the first round for his best round. Justin Collins (Fr., Ironton, Ohio) fired a 68 in the second round and Jason Oien (So., New Albany, Ohio) shot a 69 in the third round to top their previous career bests. John Bloomfield of South Carolina won the individual title with a 197 (-19). The Buckeyes are next in action at the Iron Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. on Oct. 17-18.
