COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team opened the spring portion of the 2004-05 season Saturday at the SunTrust Gator Invitational and is tied for 13th with one round to play. The Buckeyes opened day one competition with a two-round total of 604. The University of Florida is playing host to the 54-hole event at the par 70, 6,701-yard, University of Florida Golf Course.

Senior Scott Anderson (Great Falls, Mont./Great Falls) is the top OSU golfer through 36-holes. Anderson opened the event by carding a two-round total of 149 and is currently tied for 36th with six other competitors.

Wake Forest leads the event with a two-round total of 577. LSU’s Heath West and Florida’s Brett Stegmaier are tied for the lead with a total of 140.

Final round competition will begin Sunday at 8 a.m. as teams will play 18-holes to finish the tournament.
