COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team concluded play at the 2004 Gator Invitational Sunday with a 13th place finish to open the spring portion of the 2003-04 season. The two-day event, was held at the par 70, 6,701-yard University Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.

Zach Doran (Sr., Dublin, Ohio/Columbus Academy) paced the Buckeyes as he fired a final-round score of 72 and tied for 15th. Doran finished the tournament with a three-round total of 217, which marked his second lowest three-round total of the 2003-04 season.

The Buckeyes also received a strong performance from freshman Colin Biles (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) as he tied for 20th. Biles’s finish in the event, was his best as a Buckeye.

Chris Cousins of UAB captured medalist honors as he posted a three-round total of 207, while Florida won the tournament for the 17th time in program history.

The Ohio State men’s golf team returns to action Feb. 17-18 to compete in the Matlock Classic in Lakeland, Fla.
