%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – Despite firing a solid 295 (+7) in the final round of play, the Ohio State men’s golf team fell just short of a berth in the NCAA Championships, taking 11th place at the NCAA Central Regional, held at the par-72 Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. The Buckeyes finished with a three-round total of 893, falling one stroke shy of ninth-place Southern Methodist and Houston. The Top 10 teams earn a berth in the NCAA Championships.%^$

%^$Mike Austin (Sr., Burton, Mich./Flint Powers Catholic) paced the Buckeyes with a fifth-place finish. In his final round as a Buckeye, Austin fired a 73 en route to an even-par 216 for the tournament. Kevin Hall (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Rita) also recorded a 73 as he finished the tournament in 50th place with a 224.%^$

%^$Jason Oien (Jr., New Albany, Ohio/Westerville North) shot a 2-over-par 74 in the final round, concluding the tournament in 55th place with a score of 225. Ryan Dennis (Jr., Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) shot a 75 Saturday to finish in 97th place with a 231, while Justin Collins (Fr., Ironton, Ohio/Ironton) carded a 76 in the final round to end at 233, good for 111th place.%^$
