ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Ohio State men’s golf team sealed its second straight tournament win at the Wolverine Invitational today. The Buckeyes held off runner-up, Kent State, by one stroke on the final round of play.

The Buckeyes were led by Ryan Armour (Sr., Silver Lake, Ohio), who finished in sixth place with a 3-under-par 210. Armour fell six strokes shy of individual medalist James McLean from Minnesota. McLean put together three sub-par rounds to become the individual champion with a 9-under-par 204.

Mike Austin (Fr., Burton, Mich.) regrouped for today’s round of golf to move up one spot, rising into ninth place with 1-under-par 212.

Two other Buckeyes also finished within the top 20 individuals. Seniors Jeff Brown (Columbus, Ohio) and Craig Matthew (Point Claire, Quebec) came in the clubhouse in ties for 14th and 20th, respectively. The red hot Buckeyes will take their two tournament win streak into the Big Ten Championships at the Forest Akers West golf course in West Lansing, Mich. this weekend.
