COLUMBUS, Ohio- – The Ohio State men’s fencing squad swept opponents Michigan, Detroit-Mercy and Michigan State Friday at the Sports Pavilion and Aquatics Center in Evanston, Ill. The men’s team, now 9-0 this season, defeated Michigan, 26-1, Detroit-Mercy, 27-0 and Michigan State, 27-0. The Buckeyes suffered just one individual loss to the Wolverines that coming in the sabre competition. Ohio State shut out both the Spartans and the Titans.
The Buckeyes are back in action Saturday for the final day of competition at the Northwestern Duals in Evanston. The women’s squad will take on Lawrence, Fairleigh Dickinson, Temple and North Carolina beginning at 8 a.m., while the men’s team will wrap up action against Lawrence, North Carolina and Johns Hopkins starting at 1 p.m.
