COLUMBUS, Ohio–The Ohio State men’s basketball team will play Florida State University in the opening round of the 2000 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout at 9:30 EST, Thursday, Nov. 23.

The tournament will open with Rhode Island vs. Missouri at 8:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday Nov. 22 followed by Valparaiso vs. Alaska Anchorage at 12:45 a.m. EST, Thursday.

DePaul will meet Syracuse at midnight EST, following the Ohio State vs. Florida State game on Thanksgiving Day.

The series between Ohio State and FSU began Dec. 2, 1961 in the season opener for the Buckeyes in Columbus. Ohio State, ranked No. 1 at the time, downed Florida State 72-57. A home and home series was then played in 1967-68. OSU won both games by scores of 76-69 (12/4/67) in Columbus and 93-86 (12/27/68) in Tallahassee.

Ohio State will meet the winner or loser of the DePaul vs. Syracuse game Friday, Nov. 24. The Buckeyes have a 5-4 record against DePaul and a 3-1 record all-time over Syracuse.
