COLUMBUS, Ohio – Redshirt sophomore Sean Melton of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team was named NCAA Gymnast of the Week by the College Gymnastics Association after winning the all-around competition in the Buckeyes’ dual-meet victory over Michigan Saturday.

Melton, a native of Orlando, Fla., won the all-around against the Wolverines with a score of 87.650, the fifth-best score in the nation this season. He finished first on rings (15.000) and equaled his season-best score of 15.350 on vault, finishing second overall. The score of 15.350 on vault ranks third in the NCAA in 2016.

The award is the second of Melton’s career. He was also named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on Monday for his efforts.
