COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State attacker Megan Mirick (Sr., Burke, Va./Robinson High School) has been named the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week. Mirick was the key in the 12-11 upset victory over seventh-ranked Maryland. She had five goals and an assist in the game. Mirick had three goals in the first half to help OSU build an 8-3 halftime lead. Her fourth goal of the game gave OSU its largest lead of the game at 10-3. Her fifth goal at 48:18 made it 11-8, stopping a five-goal scoring run by the Terrapins. Shannon Wilson (Jr., Sherkston, Ontario/Lakeshore Catholic High School) scored the game winning goal with 1:37 left to complete the victory. The Ohio State win broke a string of 79-straight wins by Maryland (6-4) over non-conference competition.

Ohio State (7-1, 1-0 American Lacrosse Conference), ranked 13th this week in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Poll, returns to conference action this Saturday, April 6 when the Buckeyes play at 17th-ranked Johns Hopkins (6-4, 3-2) at 11 a.m.
