Meet the Class of 2022

Later this week, head coach Nick Myers and the Ohio State coaching staff will welcome 13 talented student-athletes to Columbus as they begin their athletic and academic careers for the Buckeyes. Here’s a look at what they’ll bring to Ohio State, as well as why they chose to be Buckeyes:

Anthony Ameo | Painesville, Ohio | St. Ignatius H.S. | Faceoff
• Four-year letterwinner and face-off specialist for head coach Gary Cintron at St. Ignatius High School.
• Was 223 of 306 of face-offs as a senior (73 percent) to earn first team All-Ohio and Under Armour All-America honors.
• Also scooped up 114 ground balls and had 24 points (14G, 10A).
• First team All-Midwest and St. Ignatius’ career leader in ground balls (484) and face-off win percentage (.750).
• Also set school records for ground balls in a game (17) and season (175).
• Led St. Ignatius to three straight state finals appearances.
• 2015 and 2016 NXT CanAm Showcase `King of the X’ champion.

Alec Cerasoli | Phoenix, Md. | Loyola Blakefield H.S. | Long Stick Midfield
• Long stick midfielder from one of the nation’s premier high school programs, Loyola Blakefield
• Played for head coach Ben Rubeor.
• Also was a member of the water polo and squash teams at Loyola Blakefield.
• Played club lacrosse for FCA MD Blue, the 2015 Crab Feast champions.

Matt Clibanoff | Ambler, Pa. | La Salle College H.S. | Attack
• Four-year starter for head coach William Leahy.
• Helped La Salle reach the PIAA state finals as a junior and senior.
• PIAA All-State selection.
• Finished with 126 points over his final two seasons on 74 goals and 52 assists.
• Three-time Philadelphia Catholic League selection.

Mike Clibanoff | Ambler, Pa. | La Salle College H.S. | Goalie
• Brother of fellow signee Matt Cilbanoff.
• Two-time all-Philadelphia Catholic League, PIAA all-state and U.S. Lacrosse All-American.
• Held opponents to less than three goals per game last season as a senior.

Buchanan Dunavant | Germantown, Tenn. | Memphis University School | Defense
• Four-year starter for head coach Elliott Dent and Memphis University School.
• 2018 Commercial Appeal Player of the year
• Two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American.
• Team leader in caused turnovers and ground balls.
• First team All-Region and All-State as a junior and senior.
• Helped Memphis University School win state championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Brandon Fisher | Lorton, Va. | Paul VI Catholic H.S. | Midfield
• Team captain and first team All-State honoree as a senior.
• Coached by Bob Waters.
• Led Paul VI to first state championship in school history.
• Part of the winningest senior class in program history.
• Given the Tony Nader Memorial Award by his peers as the best teammate.
• Paul VI was undefeated in 2018 against in-state opponents (12-0).
• D.C. Under Armour Underlcass All-America team selection.
• Honor roll student.

TJ Hendricks | Fairport, N.Y. | Fairport H.S./Avon Old Farms | Midfield
• Led Fairport High School in scoring for three straight years.
• Scored over 100 goals in his high school career.
• Spent the 2018 season at Avon Old Farms School under head coach Skip Flanagan.
• Also played basketball, helping Fairport reach the Class AA state championship game in 2017.

Zach Ludd | Portsmouth, NH | The Governor’s Academy | Attack
• Three-sport standout at The Governor’s Academy who also played basketball and football.
• Team Most Valuable Player as a senior under head coach Steve Moreland.
• Totaled 70 points and led Governor’s Academy to the Independent School League title.
• U.S. Lacrosse All-American.
• Had 180 points over his final three varsity seasons.

Jack Myers | Bethesda, Md. | Gonzaga College H.S. | Attack
• U.S. Lacrosse and Under Armour All-American.
• Played in the Under Armour All-America Game.
• Two-time team captain for head coach Casey O’Neal.
• 162 goals and 124 assists for 286 points to become D.C.’s all-time points leader.
• School record holder in career goals, assists and points.
• Helped Gonzaga win three WCAC titles in four years.
• WCAC Player of the Year in 2018.

Skylar Wahlund | Powell, Ohio | Olentangy Liberty H.S. | Goalie
• Named Ohio’s Goalie of the Year and a U.S. Lacrosse All-American.
• Played for head coach Jason Godwin.
• First team All-Ohio, All-Region and All-Conference.
• Set Olentangy Liberty’s single-season record for saves (219).
• Named the Patriots’ Defensive MVP in 2018, finishing with a .680 save percentage and 5.2 goals-against average.
• Led Olentangy Liberty to the Division I state quarterfinals as a senior and the semifinals as a junior.
• Athlete of the Year nominee.

George Walsh | York, Pa. | Calvert Hall College H.S. | Defense
• Four-year starter for Calvert Hall, one of the nation’s top high school programs.
• Team captain as a senior in 2018 for head coach Bryan Kelly.
• Helped Calvert Hall win back to back MIAA titles as a junior and senior.
• Competed at the 2017 Under Armour Underclass Tournament.
• First team All-Metro.

Scott White | West Chester, Pa. | Malvern Prep H.S. | Attack
• Four-year letterwinner for head coach John McEvoy.
• U.S. Lacrosse All-American, first team All-EPLCA and All-Inter-Ac selection.
• First Team All-Main Line by PrepLive.com
• 54 goals and 18 assists as a senior in 20 games.
• Led Malvern Prep to the Inter-Ac title as a senior and a final national ranking of No. 19.
• Scored over 100 career goals.
• Competed at the 2017 Under Armour Underclass Tournament.

Johnny Wiseman | Powell, Ohio | Olentangy Liberty H.S. | Midfield
• Four-year letterwinner and two-time Offensive MVP for Olentangy Liberty and head coach Jason Godwin.
• U.S. Lacrosse All-American
• Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year in 2018.
• Named the Ohio Division I Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year.
• First team all-state and all-region.
• Set school records for career points, career goals and career assists.
• Two-time team captain.
• All-Ohio on the football field as a defensive back in 2016 and 2017, leading Olentangy Liberty to the state final four both seasons.
