McKenna Closes Out Regular Season as Big Ten Wrestler of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference selected Ohio State’s Joey McKenna as its Big Ten Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday (Feb. 20), recognizing his victory over Kevin Jack of North Carolina State as the top B1G performance. McKenna notched a 6-2 decision over the then second-ranked 141-pounder in the country during a 29-6 Buckeye team triumph.

McKenna struck quickly, registering a takedown within the first minute of the bout. He added another takedown by period’s end to earn a 4-1 edge entering the second stanza. McKenna then went on to stretch the gap to four points, coming out as a 6-2 winner to hand Jack just his second loss of the season (17-2).

This marks the fourth Big Ten Wrestler of the Week for Ohio State in 2017-18:
