COLUMBUS, Ohio – Men’s basketball head coach Thad Matta and sophomores Jon Diebler and Evan Turner spoke to members of the media Monday as the Buckeyes prepare to play No. 16/17 Purdue at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Value City Arena. Ohio State then takes on No. 24 Minnesota at 8 p.m. Saturday night in Columbus.
Matta participated in the weekly Big Ten Teleconference Monday morning before he and the players met with the media in the afternoon.
Matta’s Big Ten Teleconference Opening Statement
“From the last time we talked about a week ago, we’ve won two games. had two hard-fought basketball games. I felt like our guys have responded pretty well to what we are asking them to do and knowing that every time you take the court in this conference, it’s going to be a hard-fought game, a tough battle. I think our guys are making strides in certain areas. I don’t think that we played with the consistency in the two games that maybe we needed to, but you take a look at the film with your guys and say, this is where we’ve got to get better and you move forward. We’ve got a tremendous challenge with two tough games on Tuesday and Saturday and away we go.”
