The Chicago native, a product of St. Joseph’s High School, is one of the top returning players for head coach Thad Matta’s fifth edition of Ohio State Basketball. Last Thursday, Turner turned in a 17 point performance to tie freshman William Buford for the team lead in the 90-63 exhibition win over Walsh.

The Buckeyes open the regular season at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John Arena, former home of the Ohio State basketball program. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network. Matta’s teams are 4-0 in season openers and he is 7-0 as a head coach in games to open a season.
