COLUMBUS, Ohio Five former Buckeyes will be inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame at the fourth annual induction ceremony held at the Columbus Convention Center May 30. The 2009 induction class includes Michael Redd, Tracey Hall, Eldon Miller, Dick Schnittker and Phyllis Bailey.

Redd, a 2008 men’s basketball Olympic gold medalist, played for Ohio State from 1998-2000. Schnittker was named an All-American in 1950 after leading his team to a Big Ten championship. Women’s basketball great Hall led Ohio State to three-consecutive Big Ten championships and four trips to the NCAA tournament from 1985-1988.  Miller, head men’s basketball coach from 1977-1986, won the 1986 NIT title and led four of his 10 teams into the NCAA tournament. Bailey was the first women’s varsity basketball coach at Ohio State and has been a part of changing women’s athletics for many years.

The event begins with a chance for fans to meet the 2009 induction class at 6 p.m. Following the meet and greet is the induction ceremony and dinner to honor the past achievements of the inductees. A silent auction also will take place throughout the evening.
