COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Evan Turner added to his list of recent honors with All-District V team recognition by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Tuesday, based on voting from its national membership. District V is made up of schools from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin and the all-district team features six Big Ten players. 

Turner, a 6-foot-7-inch guard from Chicago, was named First Team All-Big Ten earlier this week after finishing the regular season as a three-time conference player of the week. He also received all-district honors by the NABC and is a finalist the Oscar Robertson trophy, given annually by the USBWA to its player of the year. Turner is one of 15 finalists and the lone representative of the Big Ten.

Turner led Ohio State in nearly every statistical category this season. He topped the Buckeyes in scoring (16.8 ppg.), rebounding (201/6.9 rpg.), assists (112), steals (50), minutes (1,044/36.0 mpg.), field goals made (165), free throws made (201), offensive rebounds (48) and defensive rebounds (153).

The fifth-seeded Buckeyes return to the court at 2:30 p.m. Friday against No. 4-seed Wisconsin in the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis, Ind.
