Marshall Invitational up Next
The Buckeyes return to action April 7-8 at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W.Va. The Buckeyes will face most of their fellow District IV opponents at the event.

“This is a big one for us, we need to have a strong effort to get into the regional,” coach Jim Brown said. “Everyone in our region will be there except Northwestern and Kent State.”

The Wildcats and Golden Flashes will be participating at the Compaq/U.S. Intercollegiate in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Buckeyes Struggle with Short Game
The Buckeyes were strong off the tee at the Schenkel Invite but ran into problems around the greens which negated their strong long game.

“We really struggled around the green,” Brown said. “It’s not just one guy and it’s becoming a concern for me. We’ve been working on that. If you don’t have a short game, it doesn’t matter what your ball strikes are.”

Last Year at Marshall Invite
The Buckeyes turned in a strong showing last April 10th at the Marshall Invite, finishing in sixth place out of 20 teams with a score of 899. OSU placed second among seven Big Ten participants. Northwestern, which won the event with a score of 884 was the lone Big Ten opponent to outshoot OSU. The Buckeyes shared the lead with the Wildcats after a first round score of 298, but fell 11 shots off the lead after shooting a 305 in round two. Chris Emanual led the tournament after the first round with an even-par 71 performance that included five birdies. Emanual finished tied for 13th.
