COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior sprinter Madison McNary was named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week Monday by the conference office.
McNary, who ran at the University of Florida the past two seasons, captured her first weekly award after winning the 60 and 200-meter dashes at the Buckeye Invitational last Friday. In her first meet as a Buckeye, the Tarpon Springs, Fla., native won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.42, which is the nation’s third-best time so far this season. McNary’s time also set a new personal record and is the fourth-fastest indoor time in school history. The junior continued her success in the 200-meters where she posted a time of 24.05, marking the second-fastest time in the country.
No. 23 Ohio State returns to action this Saturday, Jan. 15 at Michigan in the inaugural women’s Dual meet. Events in Ann Arbor are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET.
