Columbus, Ohio – Local television and radio has been determined for the 2002-03 Ohio State women’s basketball team. Besides four national exposures (vs. Texas, at Wisconsin, at Northwestern and vs. Purdue), the Ohio News Network (ONN) will cover eight OSU contests locally this season. Additionally, Buckeye basketball returns to the airwaves with all 27 games and postseason play being broadcast on WOSU-820 AM this season.

In December, ONN will carry two non-conference contests against Arizona (15) and Youngstown State (20). Michigan State, Illinois and Iowa will be available on ONN January 9, 23 and 26, respectively. Minnesota (Feb. 6), Wisconsin (Feb. 9) and the final regular season game against Michigan in historic St. John Arena (Feb. 27) also will be aired on ONN.

For the first time since April 1993, Buckeye basketball will be heard on WOSU-820 AM. In a cooperative agreement with WBNS, WOSU-AM once again will be the flagship radio station and the Ohio State Buckeyes Radio Sports Network will produce the programs. The games also can be heard online through the WOSU station’s web site (www.wosu.org). WOSU’s Herb Howenstine is in his 15th season as the play-by-play voice of the Buckeyes. Former Buckeye basketball players Kristin Watt and Toni Roesch will join him on the broadcasts.
