COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Liam Doyle on the Ohio State men’s soccer team was named a third team preseason All-American by College Soccer News.  

Doyle, a native of Isle of Man, U.K., was recently named to the Big Ten preseason players to watch list and as well as team captain by the OSU coaching staff. The 2014 First Team All-Big Ten selection started in all 22 games last year in his first season with the Buckeyes, posting 12 points on five goals and two assists. He led the Scarlet and Gray with three gamewinning goals and anchored an OSU back line that held opponents to 1.00 goals per game. Doyle is one of nine starters and 13 letterwinners returning for the Scarlet and Gray.

Ohio State opens the regular season at 7:30 p.m. ET Friday against Cal State Fullerton in the tenth-annual Wolstein Classic. As always, admission is free at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The contest vs. the Titans will be streamed on BTN Plus.
