COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lewis VanHoose recently was named the assistant equipment manager for the Ohio State football team. VanHoose is replacing Rob Lachey, who took over the duties of former head equipment manager Danny Swain. The West Liberty, Ohio native will handle the day-to-day equipment operations.

“I am looking forward to coming back home to Ohio and working for a great program and great people,” VanHoose said. “This has been a dream and a lifelong career move.”

Prior to his role at Ohio State, VanHoose served as head equipment manager for Eastern Michigan (2001-04) and Louisiana Tech (1997-2001). He graduated from the University of Dubuque, in Dubuque, Iowa in 1996 with a degree in history and speech communications and worked as a student equipment manager during his undergraduate years.

VanHoose, a 1992 graduate of West Liberty Salem High School and the son of Millard and Virginia (Massie), resides in Worthington, Ohio.
