COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s lacrosse coach Joe Breschi will represent the United States in next month’s World Lacrosse Championships in Baltimore, Md. Play is set to begin on July 16.
Called the World Lacrosse Games, this championship began in 1967 and is held every four years. There will be 13 countries participating this year. The U.S. has won the last four World Championships.
“First of all, it’s a great honor to represent my country,” Breschi said. “I’m also proud to represent the Buckeyes on the world scene. We bring in a solid team and it should be a terrific experience.”
Breschi, a defender for the U.S. squad, just completed his first season at the OSU helm. The Buckeyes finished with a 5-7 overall record but came to a blazing finish, winning four out its last five contests.
