BARRANQUILLA, Colombia – Kristen Romano, a rising sophomore on the Ohio State swimming & diving team, broke three Puerto Rican records while swimming for the country at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
On Friday, Romano placed fourth in the 400 Free, clocking in at 4:17.15 to better the previous record of 4:18.96 that has held since 2008. Following that up on Saturday, Romano clocked a 200 free time of 2:04.37, earning a spot as the new record holder in the event.
Romano claimed gold in the 400 IM with a time of 4:46.31 and bronze in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17.01.
Finally, on Wednesday, Romano posted a 200 Back time of 2:13.70 to take the record and win gold in the event.
