COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Buckeye Misha Koudinov on the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team is set to compete at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The 2014 Commonwealth Games mark the third appearance for Koudinov, who will be competing for New Zealand beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET Monday at the SSE Hydro located in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Koudinov, a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete, concluded his collegiate career at Ohio State last spring and was an NCAA All-American during his sophomore season following a third-place finish on parallel bars at the event finals in 2012. He helped lead the Buckeyes to their first appearance to the NCAA team finals in 2014 placing the third-best score on parallel bars during the NCAA Qualifier with a season-high 15.35. Koudinov will begin action on pommel horse in the No. 4 spot during the first rotation.

A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Koudinov first appeared for Team New Zealand at age 14 when he was the youngest athlete to represent his country at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. He became the first New Zealand gymnast to qualify for a World Cup final when he made the vault final at the event in Shanghai in 2007. In 2010, he finished sixth overall in the all-around competition at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
