COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2011 Ohio State football coaches clinic continued Friday with a morning full of guest speakers at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Head coach Jim Tressel and staff were on hand to welcome a number of very distinguished guests and speakers, including:

  • Cincinnati Taft High School Coach Mike Martin;
  • Dr. Fred Martinelli, who won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association, and his wife, Ruth;
  • Former Ohio State football head coaches Earle Bruce and John Cooper;
  • Longtime NFL and college coach Dave Adoph, who joined Bruce and Cooper on a panel discussion moderated by Steubenville coach Reno Saccoccia; and
  • Super Bowl winning-coach and Ohio-born Jon Gruden, the keynote speaker for the session.

And the audience was treated to a special appearance from the daughters of the legendary Jesse Owens: Gloria Owens-Hemphill; Marlene Owens-Rankin and Beverly Owens-Prather. The three are in town for a special 75th anniversary celebration of Owens’ remarkable accomplishments at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
