COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s basketball player Jessica Davenport was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week, the Big Ten Conference announced Monday. Davenport averaged 20 points and 7.3 rebounds in the Buckeyes’ victories over Michigan Jan. 11, then-No. 21/T22 Iowa Jan. 13 and then-No. 4/7 Rutgers Jan. 16.

Davenport, who is sharing the honor with Penn State’s Tanisha Wright, has now won conference player of the week accolades twice this season. She was first honored Jan. 3.

Davenport scored 19 at Michigan and vs. Iowa and netted a game-best 22 points vs. Rutgers. For the week, Davenport was a combined 24-of-41 from the field for a .585 average and shot 92 percent from free-throw line, including a 7-of-8 performance vs. Rutgers.

The sophomore center from Columbus averaged 7.3 boards and tallied four assists, five blocked shots and one steal in the three contests. Davenport hit her first-career 3-pointer in the first half of the Rutgers game and played 31.3 minutes per outing.

No. 5/5 Ohio State is 17-2 overall and has won six straight over Top 25 teams.

The Buckeyes travel to face Indiana at 7 p.m. EST Thursday in Bloomington, Ind.
