COLUMBUS, Ohio-Jim O’Brien, Ohio State men’s basketball coach, announced Monday senior guard Emonte Jernigan (Richmond, Calif.) has left Ohio State for personal reasons.

“We appreciated the contributions Emonte made to our team last year,” O’Brien said. “We wish him success in whatever he decides to do.”

Jernigan played in 31 games, starting seven, as a junior in 2002-03 with the Buckeyes. He averaged 4.1 points and 1.7 rebounds a game. He reached double figures five times, including a career-high 21 points in a home win over Minnesota Feb. 5.
