COLUMBUS, Ohio – Izzy Rodriguez, a sophomore on the Ohio State women’s soccer team, has earned her second-consecutive conference weekly award, garnering Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday. The award is the third-career Big Ten weekly honor for Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, a native of Canton, Mich., scored twice and assisted on another as the Buckeyes went 1-0-1 last week. In a 2-0 win over Iowa, Rodriguez assisted on the game-winner and added an insurance tally. Then in a 1-1 draw with Big Ten-leading Nebraska, Rodriguez scored the equalizer in the 58th minute. She now has three-career goals, three this season and three in her last three games. The sophomore played all 200 minutes as the Buckeyes allowed just one goal on the weekend.
