Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State’s leading scorer, Maddy Humphrey, has been selected to the 2017 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game the association announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Senior Game contest will be played following the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Tournament, which takes place on Nov. 17 in Louisville, Ky.
Humphrey has tallied 41 career goals and 27 career assists in 64 games played as a Buckeye. This season, she has scored seven goals in 13 games played for 0.64 goals per game, which ranks ninth in the Big Ten. Her 109 career points are the eighth most to be registered by a Buckeye in program history. She is one point short of tying Danielle Dayton for seventh most in program history.
The Virginia Beach, Va., native has scored a point in 10 of the 13 games she has played in this year. She scored a season-high two goals on Sept. 15 at Northwestern. As a dynamic attacker, Humphrey leads the Buckeyes in 2017 in goals (seven) and assists (six). She is on pace to lead Ohio State in scoring for the third time in her career.
Humphrey becomes the first Buckeye to represent Ohio State at this event since Brooke Hiltz did so in 2016.
Humphrey, along with nine other seniors, will be honored on Friday at Buckeye Varsity Field for Senior Day as Ohio State hosts Indiana at 3 p.m. ET.
