COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Beatrice Hannan was named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office after a standout performance at the Kentucky Invitational last weekend.

Hannan anchored the Ohio State 4×400-meter relay team to a blazing time of 3:36.16 to take first place by more than six seconds over runner-up Kentucky. An NCAA-leading time when posted on Saturday, the Buckeyes’ time now ranks third in the world and in Division I this season. It is also the second-fastest time in OSU indoor history.

As an individual, Hannan earned runner-up honors in the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.29, the No. 1 time in the B1G and No. 8 nationally in 2016.

The weekly award is the first of Hannan’s career.
