COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sophomore Will Grimmer tied for ninth place in the 81-player Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, marking the fourth Top-10 and 12th Top-25 of his young budding career. He strung together a steady line of 74-75-73 to pace the Buckeyes in their capture of fourth place — even with No. 49 Penn State at 51-over (903).
Ten Buckeyes took on the daunted Scarlet Course, seven coming in the upper half of the individual leaderboard. Clark Engle and Daniel Wetterich grabbed a piece of 14th place on 11-over 224’s while Jack Mancinotti, Caleb Ramirez and Josh Wick each tied for 28th place (+15). Jeg Coughlin III finished above the fold as well, shooting 75-80-76 for co-ownership of 36th place.
The ’17 Kepler stands as Engle’s 16th career Top-25 and Wetterich’s sixth Top-25 effort of the season.
