Columbus, Ohio – In game three of the Scarlet-Gray intra-squad softball scrimmage, the Gray team went up two games to one with an 8-7 win over Scarlet today. Freshman Ashley Cutcliff (Zionsville, Ind./University of Florida) recorded two hits and reached home three times, including the final run of the game to put her Gray team up one run over the Scarlet squad. Cutcliff reached first on a hit to left field, second on a sacrifice bunt by senior catcher Annie Dedic (Yorba Linda, Calif./Fullerton JC) and was brought home by Jennifer Johnson’s (So./La Mirada, Calif./La Mirada) double to right field.

Dedic added two runs for the Gray team and sophomore Karisa Evans (Franklin, Ohio/Franklin), freshman Chelsea Baker (Gahanna, Ohio/DeSales) and senior third base player Kristine Himes (Bolivar, Ohio/Tuscarawas Valley) each scored one run apiece for the Gray team.

Freshman Andrea Tribuzi (Plano, Tex./Plano East) and sophomore Natalie Hales (Canton, Ohio/Eastern Michigan) each rounded the bases as pinch runners for senior Jennifer Link (Yorba Linda, Calif./Sonora). Hales also scored after she hit a single to left field and reached home on an error by the Gray team. Seniors Amy Ellis (Eire, Pa./Ball State) and pitcher Katie Chain (Sr./North Canton, Ohio/Hoover), sophomore Meghan Rowlands (Hilliard, Ohio/Bishop Ready) and freshman Stacy Hibma (Buena Park, Calif./Valley Christian), who scored a homerun, all tallied runs for the Scarlet team as well.

The fourth game of the series will take place tomorrow at 3 p.m.
