With the Ohio State hockey 2015-16 season 37 days away, get to know the Buckeyes’ No. 37, Mike Gillespie.
Mike Gillespie is a rookie forward from New City, New York. He spent last season with the Lincoln Stars in the United States Hockey League, playing in 59 games and posting 34 points, on 18 goals and 16 assists. He was named the Eastern Hockey League Rookie of the Year after skating for the New Jersey Rockets in the Eastern Hockey League in 2013-14 and recording 54 points, with 14 goals and 40 assists, in 41 games.
The Buckeyes open the season with an exhibition game Oct. 3 (37 days away), as they host Brock in Value City Arena. The regular season begins with a home-and-home series against Bowling Green Oct. 9-10, with the opening game in Columbus.
