With the Ohio State hockey 2015-16 season nearing, get to know the Buckeyes.

Miguel Fidler, a freshman from Edina, Minn., was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Draft. He played in the USHL last season, starting with the Lincoln stars before closing the year in Madison. He had 21 points, including 16 assists, in 45 games for the Stars before recording six points in 15 games with the Capitols. Filder was part of two Minnesota state championship teams at Edina High School and led the team with 41 points in 2014. His father, Michael, played collegiately at Boston University, was a third-round NHL draft pick and spent eight years playing professional hockey, including 271 NHL games.

The Buckeyes open the season with an exhibition game Oct. 3 (12 days away), as they host Brock in Value City Arena at 4 p.m. The regular season begins with a home-and-home series against Bowling Green Oct. 9-10, with the opening game in Columbus.
