COLUMBUS, Ohio – Abby Kopec has signed a national letter of intent to further her academic and athletic career as a member of the Ohio State field hockey team, head coach Jarred Martin announced.
Kopec was a four-year letterwinner at Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch, N.J. A 2017 team captain, Kopec is a two-time all-state selection in addition to garnering all-division, all-group and All-Shore honors three times. Kopec was a critical member of Shore Regional’s state championship team in 2014, scoring the game-winning goal en route to the state title.
“I can’t wait for Abby to be here in August and join the Buckeye family,” Martin said. “She comes from a storied high school program at Shore Regional and a great club team with Jersey Intensity. Abby is a very good defender and a great competitor. She is used to winning and brings that drive to Ohio State. I am excited to see her in the Scarlet and Gray and watch her grow during her time at Ohio State.”
