COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rain in Columbus has forced the baseball team to postpone the third game of the annual Scarlet and Gray World Series until Thursday, head coach Bob Todd announced Wednesday. No game will be played Wednesday and the series, which is tied 1-1 and had been scheduled for a best-three-of-five format, will now be decided in three games.

Thursday’s final game will begin at 3 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium and will go nine innings. The Scarlet team, a 2-1 winner in game one, will start freshman Cory Luebke (Maria Stein, Ohio/Marion Local), while the Gray team, a 6-3 winner in game two, will counter with Dan Barker (Dayton, Ohio/Northmont).

The Diamond Club Cookout, which was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, has been cancelled and will not be made up. The annual Diamond Club Meet the Team Luncheon will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, one week before the team opens the 2005 season at the Wiregrass Classic in Dothan, Ala. against Middle Tennessee, Troy and Iowa.
