MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Heavy rain in Minneapolis forced Ohio State and Minnesota to cancel the final game of a four-game series Sunday at Siebert Field. The Golden Gophers clinched its third straight Big Ten regular season championship by beating the Buckeyes 7-2 in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday. Minnesota won 13-1 in game, but Ohio State rebounded to win game two 10-6.

The teams now advance to the Big Ten Tournament, which gets underway Wednesday in Minneapolis. Minnesota will be the top seed while seeding for the Buckeyes will depend upon the outcome of Michigan’s home series against Penn State. Michigan can move ahead of Ohio State as the No. 2 seed with a doubleheader sweep, but one Wolverine loss will give the second seed to the Buckeyes. Seeds 3-6 open play Wednesday, while the top two seeds will begin play Thursday. Times for the event will be announced Monday.
