COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gabby Capuzzi, a senior midfielder on the 15th-ranked Ohio State women’s lacrosse team, will take part in the IWLCA North-South All-Star Game as a member of the North squad, the organization announced this week. The North-South games will feature top senior players representing the Division I, II, and III levels, beginning at noon Saturday, June 16 at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa., as part of the Champions’ Cup.

The IWLCA honored 115 senior student-athletes with selection to one of the North-South rosters. The 2012 games will precede the IWLCA All-American banquet, which will take place at the Radisson Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa., later in the evening. Capuzzi and senior teammate Alayna Markwordt each were named IWLCA Second Team All-Americans earlier in the postseason.

In addition to earning Ohio State’s 12th All-American selection, Capuzzi was a First Team All-ALC honoree this season. She led the team with 42 goals, 52 draw controls, 38 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers, holding the top spot in the ALC with an average of 1.82 CT per game, a mark which ranked 14th in the nation.

The Broomall, Pa., native is the OSU record holder for career draws (166) after tying the single-season draw record in 2012 and owning two of the Top 3 positions. As a member of the winningest class in Buckeye lacrosse history, Capuzzi finished with 123 goals, good for fifth all-time at Ohio State, as well as 128 groundballs and 74 caused turnovers.
