Columbus, Ohio – Four members of the Ohio State rowing team received national scholar-athlete honors, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced Monday. Seniors Diana Albrecht, Elizabeth Tompkins and Franziska Schubert and junior Jana Schiller were named 2005 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athletes.
This marks the third-consecutive year Albrecht has received the honor and the second time Schubert received the award. She previously earned the award in 2003. This is both a first time award for Tompkins and Schiller.
The award recognizes the outstanding academic accomplishments of female rowers and coxswain. Student-athletes qualify for the award by holding at least a 3.5 grade point average and having competed in at least 75 percent of the team’s first varsity eight races.
