COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three former Ohio State synchronized swimmers and one current Buckeye recently gained qualifying spots on the U.S. National Teams at the National Senior Team Trials in San Jose, California.

Becky Jasontek (Loveland, Ohio) and Emily Marsh (Spring Valley, Calif.) both earned spots on the National Team and will have the opportunity to compete in the 1998 Goodwill Games in Long Island, N.Y. on July 19-20. Jasontek and Marsh both wrapped up their stellar OSU careers after the 1997 season by gaining All-American accolades for the fourth consecutive year. OSU captured four National Championships during their careers.

Heather Moore (So.Tonawanda, N.Y.) and Gina Pietras (Tacoma, Wash.) were also named to National Team II and will have the chance to compete in the Swiss Open, July 2-5, in Monthey, Switzerland. Moore, currently a sophomore at OSU, earned All-American honors for the first time this season. Pietras graduated from Ohio State in 1997 and was a three-time All-American during her career.

Jasontek, Marsh, and Pietras currently compete for the Walnut Creek (Calif.) Aquanuts. The top 12 swimmers named to each National Team become the team’s training squad. Ten swimmers from the squad will make up the official delegation.
