Voting concludes at 4 p.m. Thursday at MLB.com

After a Top 5 showing in Major League Baseball’s fan voting to determine the 2010 All-Star Game starters, former Buckeye Nick Swisher currently leads a second fan vote for the 34th and final spot on this year’s American League roster for the Mid-Summer Classic in Anaheim, Calif. (8 p.m., July 13/FOX TV).

Swisher, turning in a strong 2010 first-half effort as an outfielder/DH for the Yankees, came into Monday evening’s game at Oakland with 13 home runs and 47 runs batted. After a 2-for-4 night at the plate in NY’s 3-1 victory, Swisher is hitting at a .296 clip.

Swisher, who ranks fourth all-time at Ohio State in career home runs with 35 from 2000-02, is seeking his first all-star appearance in the major leagues.

Buckeye fans can help “Swish” reach the 2010 All-Star game by voting at MLB.com. Voting ends at 4 p.m. Thursday.
