Ryan Hamby, junior tight end
On the OSU offense
“We want to get the job done and we are striving to be a better unit. We have the talent on offense, we just have to get it done. When we don’t execute, it’s never just one guy that doesn’t get the job done. We all need to get better.”

On the status of the team
“Every Thursday the captains meet with us and we have a talk, and we feel like we have good leadership. In the locker room, of course we’re frustrated that we’re 0-2 in the Big Ten. We all want to get the job done.”

On the team’s confidence level
“We’re confident, we just need to go out and execute the way we are capable of.”

On the Wisconsin game
“In the first half we moved the ball down the field, both running and passing. But in the second half we just couldn’t get into the flow or get any momentum.”

Anthony Schlegel, junior linebacker
On the game against Iowa
“It is really huge. This is a key game and it is time to go. We really want to get into a BCS Bowl. We have to go into Iowa City and be ready to go. Each week keeps getting tougher and tougher.”

On Ohio State’s defense
“We want to be the best defense in the country. We haven’t been playing like that but we know we can and that is what we want to do.”

On Iowa’s defense
“They have a great defense. They have a great linebacker corps. At the beginning of the season, their linebacker corps was ranked first and we were ranked second. Coach always says, `We have to play better than their defense.’ That is what we want to do this week.”

On being a leader
“The older guys have to make plays this week and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Being a leader doesn’t always mean you are the most popular guy. Sometimes you have to step in and say something to people to help them get better.”
