Ohio State Football Award Winners

Outstanding play against Illinois recognized

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio The OhioState football coaching staff has selected its weekly award winners for outstanding play in the Illinois game Saturday.

 

Defensive back Kurt Coleman earned the Buckeyes’ defensive player of the week award. Shaun Lane was recognized as the special units player of the week by OhioState. No offensive player of the week was selected.

           

Scout team champions were: Offense: Zach Slagle; Defense: Zach Willis; Special Units: Matt Daniels. The “Attack Force” award went to Vernon Gholston. The Jim Parker lineman award and the Jack Tatum Hit of the Week were not awarded.

 

No. 7 OhioState (10-1) visits No. 23 Michigan (8-3) Saturday for a noon game that will be televised by ABC.
