COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State has been allotted 16,000 tickets for the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, to be played Jan. 3 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. The Buckeyes accepted the Fiesta Bowl invitation Saturday after beating Michigan 14-9 to stay unbeaten and improve to 13-0. An opponent has not been selected.

Ohio State officials do not expect a public offering of the tickets, which will instead be distributed to the following groups, which will receive ordering priority: official university party, players’ families, students, faculty/staff, Buckeye Club at the Big Ten Champions Level or higher, Presidents Club and Varsity O football and long-time season ticket holders, who ordered 2002 season football tickets.

Official bowl applications have been mailed to the Buckeye Club, Presidents Club, Varsity O football and longtime season ticket holders. The official bowl application must be returned with proper payment to the athletic ticket office by Friday, Dec. 6. Orders received after this date will not be eligible for Fiesta Bowl tickets. Tickets are $155 each. There is a limit of two tickets per application. No e-mail or phone calls will be accepted for the purchase of bowl tickets.

Within each group, a specific number of tickets have been allocated. University officials anticipate that the requests within each membership category will far exceed the number available. When demand exceeds supply, either the point system or a lottery system will be implemented. The breakdown is as follows:
