COLUMBUS, Ohio– Ohio State forward Vanessa Immordino (Sr., West Essex, N.J.) was named a 2003 First Team STX/NFHCA All-American Monday. After garnering second-team honors the last two years, Immordino earned first-team honors in 2003.

During the 2003 campaign, Immordino continued to lead the team in goals (22) and points (54). In the Big Ten regular season, the senior captain led the conference in five categories – points (54), points per game (2.70), goals (22), goals per game (1.10) and game-winning goals (5). Immordino also consistently remained atop the national standings, as she placed fourth in points, fifth in points per game, sixth in goals per game and seventh in goals.

In addition to her All-America accolades, Immordino is a candidate for the 2003 Honda Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top field hockey player.
