COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the second time this season, two members of the Ohio State University women’s hockey team have earned Western Collegiate Hockey Association honors in the same week. Maddy Field has been named the Offensive Player of the Week, and Emma Maltais has been selected as the Rookie of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.

Field led the way for the Buckeyes this weekend with four points, scoring a goal and tallying an assist in both games. Her goal in the first game came during the second period where OSU scored all four goals. Field also assisted on the first goal of the game. In game two, the junior opened the scoring for Ohio State, lighting the lamp with a little over four minutes left in the first.

Maltais took a different approach with her scoring, picking up three points on two goals and an assist. The freshman bookended the scoring for the Buckeyes this weekend, scoring the first goal of game one, and the last goal of game two. Her assist came on the Field goal in the second game.

The Buckeyes are on a bye this weekend, but are looking ahead to their series at the No. 1 University of Wisconsin Badgers. That series is set to get underway on Saturday, November 4.
