A busy day included the first two-a-day practice plus a Big Ten Network commercial shoot with the Hunters
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team held its first two-a-day practice Thursday to tune-up before its Scarlet and Gray Scrimmage at 4 p.m. Friday. The Buckeyes endured the beating Columbus sun as they participated in conditioning and stick drills at North Turf Field.
In addition to a grueling first day of practice, Melissa Hunter and Rachel Hunter filmed a “Faces of the Big Ten” commercial for the Big Ten Network during their lunch break.
Ohio State will have two conference games aired on the Big Ten Network in 2009. The Buckeye-Nittany Lion matchup played at 4 p.m. Oct. 2 will air on a tape delayed basis at noon Oct. 4.
The team’s game at Michigan State played at 3 p.m. Oct. 23 will be shown at 4 p.m. Oct. 25. The Big Ten Network also will be on hand to air the 2009 Big Ten Tournament’s semifinals matches live at 12:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 6, as well as the championship game at noon Nov. 8 in East Lansing, Mich.
Teams have been set for the intrasquad scrimmage.
On the Scarlet team, goalkeepers Ali Ristas and Ally Tunitis will be joined by field players Maria Briones Vidal, Danica Deckard, Morgan Clark, Aisling Coyle, Bri Doak, Melissa Hunter, Laura Napolitano, Emily Pope and Berta-Naoko Queralt O’Callaghan.
For the Gray team, goalkeeper Lindsay Quintiliani will play behind Alicia Anzivine, Kelly Beam, Keegan Billick, Jena Cacciatore, Natalia Ciminello, Rachel Hunter, Aisling McKeon, Melissa Palm and Jenn Sciulli.
