COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman Mollie Fankhauser (Dublin, Ohio) has been named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week after her stellar performance at the prestigious Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, held last weekend in Athens, Ga.

Fankhauser shot a five-over-par 224 at the par-73 University of Georgia Golf Course, as she tied for ninth place – her second-consecutive top-10 finish. Her score also tied her career-low score, which she set one week prior at the Bryan National Collegiate. Fankhauser shot a 71 (-2) in the second round, tying her career best for a single round.

Fankhauser has competed in all 21 rounds of golf this season, accumulating a team-low 76.62 stroke average. She currently is ranked 75th nationally in the Golfweek national individual rankings and 85th in the MasterCard national individual rankings.

The Buckeyes, ranked 30th nationally by Golfweek and 34th by the MasterCard rankings, travel to the Indiana Invitational this weekend.
