WILMINGTON, N.C. – Sophomores Zoe-Beth Brake and Jessica Porvasnik each cracked the top-20 at the Landfall Tradition, both posting 54-hole totals of 218 (+2) to earn a share of 16th place. It marks Porvasnik’s third top-20 finish in three of four tournaments and the first for Brake this season.
As a team, the Buckeyes placed 15th in the 18 team field. Porvasnik, along with seniors Claudia Lim and Jan Chanpalangsri, each contributed to the team tally in all three rounds. Brake’s scores were not a factor in the team results, playing as an individual.
Porvasnik opened with a 2-under 70 on Friday followed by back-to-back 74s. Brake went 74 in round one and came back with consecutive 72s to match Porvasnik’s 218 tournament total. Lim did the same and copied her second round score on the final day with a pair of 4-over 76s coming after her opening round 72. Chanpalangsri bookended a 74 in round two with 76 in the first and third rounds. The Buckeye seniors finished in ties for 53rd (Lim) and 61st (Chanpalangsri).
Lina Aguillon and Katja Pogacar played as well, both tying for 79th place.. Aguillon improved each day, carding subsequent scores of 81-77-73. Pogacar went the opposite direction with tallies of 74-78-79.
