Lavender Wins Third-Consecutive Big Ten Player of the Year Honor
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior center Jantel Lavender was named the 2010 Big Ten Player of the Year for the third-consecutive year Monday by both the coaches and the media. She joins former Buckeye Jessica Davenport (2005-06-07) as the only three-time recipients of the award. – MORE –

No. 1 Seed Ohio State Looks to Defend Big Ten Tournament Title
Tenth-ranked Ohio State heads to the Big Ten tournament as the No. 1 seed for a record sixth-consecutive season. The Buckeyes will face the winner of No. 8 Indiana and No. 9 Illinois, who play in the third game of Thursday’s opening session. Ohio State’s quarterfinal matchup against the winner will be at 6 p.m. ET Friday in Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. – MORE –
Alumni Association to Host Pep Rally at Big Ten Women’s Tournament
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A pep rally to support the Ohio State women’s basketball team at the Big Ten Tournament is scheduled for 2:30-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, at Champps Circle Center, 49 W. Maryland Ave. (actual location is on the SE corner of Illinois and Washington). Champps is the home for Ohio State fans during both the men’s and women’s Big Ten Basketball Tournaments. – MORE –
