WBK: Buckeyes Back in First Place With 71-60 Win at Purdue
Ohio State’s defense dominated the first half, then the 19th-ranked Buckeyes held on to beat Purdue 71-60 on Sunday and move into sole possession of first place in the Big Ten. Purdue made just one field goal in the first nine minutes. The Buckeyes led 35-16 at halftime as Purdue barely missed producing its lowest-scoring half in school history. – MORE –

WBK: No. 15/14 Ohio State Heads to Ann Arbor Thursday
No. 15/14 Ohio State (16-3, 7-1 Big Ten) travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., at 7 p.m. ET Thursday for a meeting with the Michigan Wolverines (9-11, 2-7 Big Ten) at Crisler Arena. This is the second meeting this season after Ohio State won 70-50 Dec. 21 in Columbus. Ohio State is currently a half game ahead of second place Michigan State (7-2) and Indiana (7-2) in the Big Ten standings. The Buckeyes host the Hoosiers at 4 p.m. Sunday at Value City Arena. – MORE –
WBK: Walker’s Hometown Team is in the Super Bowl … Again
Junior Andrea Walker is enjoying a productive season off the bench in 2009. After battling a foot injury last season, she is averaging 5.1 points and 3.5 rebounds a game. The 6-5 center also has 17 blocks for the season – proving her strong defensive presence on the court. This season, Walker has made it a point to work on her offensive game and running the floor better. – MORE –

Buckeye Blog Post: Thousands of Students Enjoy Snow Day’ Win over Michigan for Free
Wednesday, the city of Columbus was crippled by several wintery rounds of snow, ice and more snow. Schools were closed. Businesses were shutdown. And the rarity of classes being canceled at Ohio State was considered and carried out. For the Buckeye men’s basketball team, the show must go on. Because Michigan and game officials already were in town, the game tipped off as scheduled as if it was 55 degrees and sunny in central Ohio. – MORE –
